A wonderful gluten-free, vegetarian substitute for a breaded chicken. A source of complete vegan protein. Incredibly easy and simple to make! Very suitable for anyone who is dealing with Crohn's, Ulcerative colitis, Sibo and IBS.
Ingredients:
4 tbsps of almond flour,
200 gr of organic tofu cut into thick strips,
½ a teaspoon of dried thyme,
½ a teaspoon of dried basil,
½ a teaspoon of dried rosemary,
(It is preferable to use fresh spices that have been dried and not powders),
a pinch of salt and pepper,
¼ of a cup of olive oil.
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees, and prepare a baking tray with a greased baking paper.
Make sure you have 2 bowls.
In one bowl mix the flour and thespices.
In the second bowl, pour the olive oil.
Dip the tofu strips in olive oil and then in the dry mixture from the other bowl. Make sure the strip is completely covered with the dry mixture.
Place the tofu strips on the baking tray.
Bake for about 20 minutes until the strips become golden and crispy.
Serve alongside fresh vegetables (or sprouted grains).
