Parasitology Test

What is It?

A gut parasite is a type of parasite that lives in the gastrointestinal tract of its host, which in this case are humans. Parasites inhabit various parts of the digestive symptom which includes the stomach, small and large intestines and rectum.

Examples of gut parasites include intestinal worms, protozoa and microsporidia.

They are typically acquired after the consumption of contaminated food or water, exposure to soil or from surfaces due to poor hygiene.

This testing identifies the presence of harmful organisms like parasites, H-Pylori, bad bacteria, and viruses in your digestive system.

Whilst some parasites are harmless, others can cause health problems.

One of the most researched and prominent pathogenic bacteria is Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) which has been shown to damage tissue in the small intestine.

This test is a complete screen of 22 of the most common parasites, viruses and pathogenic bacteria:

Bacteria

Helicobacter pylori, Clostridium difficile, Plesiomonas shigelloides, Salmonella, Yersinia enterocolitica, Campylobacter jejuni/coli, E. coli O157, Enteroaggregative E. coli (EAEC) aar, Enteropathogene E. coli (EPEC) eae, Enterotoxigene E. coli (ETEC) LT, Shiga-Toxin-erzeugende E. coli (STEC) stx2, Enteroinvasive E. coli (EIEC) ipaH

Viruses

What are the benefits?

Identifying these organisms can help diagnose underlying health issues, allowing for targeted treatment to alleviate symptoms and restore health.

What are the symptoms of a parasite?

Symptoms can vary based on the type of parasite, infection, and individual immune responses. Common symptoms include:

  • Alternate  diarrhoea  and  constipation

  • Inconsistent  stool  consistency

  • Stomach  cramping

  • Excessive  vomiting

  • Malnourishment  and  unexplained  weight  loss

  • Fatigue  and  lethargy

  • Bloating

  • Fevers

*Food Sensitivity Disclaimer:
A food sensitivity is defined as a food specific IgG response. The reaction is measured through IgG responses to foods to help overcome problems associated with adverse delayed immune reactions to food. Our company does not claim to cure any associated diseases or conditions, and always recommend consulting with a GP before undertaking our testing programmes.
